C. Starck Johnson, MD
Dr. Johnson is the Team Ophthalmologist of the Denver Broncos. He specializes in corneal, cataract, and LASIK surgery. He has an extensive list of publications and helped develop several ocular adhesives that can be used to seal both corneal and scleral wounds.
Dr. Johnson has a special interest in the advancement of corneal transplantation, and has helped to further develop posterior lamellar technology. He is introducing a new surgery to Colorado which involves implantation of a miniature telescope to treat advanced vision loss from Macular Degeneration. He lives in Englewood with his wife and six children. Dr. Johnson enjoys skiing and hiking with his family.
Dr. Johnson graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, and his corneal fellowship at Duke University in North Carolina.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, and Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology.
Charles D. McMahon
Dr. Charles D. McMahon has spent his professional career in the practice of comprehensive ophthalmology. His 30 years as a glaucoma specialist, love for education, and extensive research experience make him an excellent addition to our practice.
A Colorado native, Dr. McMahon graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder and CU Medical school. He completed a Glaucoma fellowship at the University of Michigan and at the University of California San Francisco prior to entering private practice in Colorado Springs. He is a decorated surgeon, passionate educator and an avid outdoorsman.
Dr. McMahon’s professional accomplishments include:
- Conducted over 30,000 cataract surgeries
- Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology
- Awarded as one of the Best Doctors in America
- Numerous research studies furthering the understanding of glaucoma and dry eye
- Mission trips to Honduras and the Dominican Republic
